Snow is falling down my window as I write these words. Truth is, it has been freezing the past weeks, but I don’t mind not feeling parts of my body as long as there is snow. As someone who fairly recently came to experience snow and winter (I know, poor me living most of my life in a tropical country where winter never comes!) I find myself in awe every time. But there is something different about snow and cold around Christmas time and the bitter cold that lasts long after family and friends have left us. At least for me, there is this feeling of nostalgia, (failed) past resolutions and new (old resolutions) and the idea of the year ahead (with all its possibilities). By mid-January all I want to do is to escape (from my thoughts and from the bitter cold) to a place where the sun never stops shining and winter blues don’t exist. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), affect millions of people and it has little to do with mental health issues but is related to the change of season and the less natural sunlight during the winter months. Here and here are some interesting articles if you want some ideas on how to overcome the winter blues.
Trying to beat the winter blues I decided to get out and shoot some pictures with a funky outfit (why not!) I love leopard, I have shoes, coats, tops, dresses and this pant is a new addition to my leopard collection. Of course pairing leopard with red is a no brainer, but I love how leopard looks with pink as well. For a more “out there” look I added the red glasses which give a cool “retro-LA” vibe (if that is actually a thing). I added a camel coat to protect from the cold and my well-loved Sac du Jour.
